All
things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are
lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
Two questions
that limit lawful things (things that are neither good or bad in and of themselves)
Is it
beneficial?
It may
be lawful, but if it is not beneficial to my Christian walk then I should
refrain.
It may
be lawful, but if it is not beneficial towards other Christians then I should
refrain.
Does it
dominate me?
It may
be lawful, but if it controls me then I should refrain. When you are dominated
by Christ then there is no room for any behavior or possession to dominate you.
